The trees themselves are American southern yellow pines and are grown and managed in Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Lousianna forests. A distinct characteristic of this pine is the colour which is a beautiful rich yellow to begin with and as the seasons pass, you’ll begin to notice a subtle silvering as the wood patinas.
Yes! The timber is impregnated with a tanalising pressure treatment preservative. The treatment is penetrated deep into the timber at a molecular level, adding to its durability and longevity (hence why we use it for our climbing frames and play area).
These small cracks are called shakes and are a natural feature of timber. Timber expands and contracts as seasons change — in warmer months the timber will shrink resulting in hairline cracks, as we move into wetter months, the timber will absorb the moisture in the air and expand (and the cracks will close). These shakes don’t affect the structural integrity of the timber.
We offer a lifetime guarantee on garden climbing frames and 20 years on commercial projects.
